Women in the Spotlight- Amy Bohutinsky


Amy Bohutinsky

is a name you may recognize. Her resume is impressive with years of leadership experience. Her career speaks for itself, but the work ethic she exhibits behind the scenes is what drives her to success.

Amy graduated from Washington & Lee University with degrees in journalism and mass communications. After graduation, she began her career as a broadcast journalist. Various affiliates Amy worked for include CBS, NBC, and ABC. Moving on from broadcasting, in 2000 Amy led the PR launch of the infamous discount travel site, Hotwire. While at Hotwire, she continued to be a part of incredible accomplishments.

Following her time with Hotwire, Amy become one of Zillow’s earliest employees. She was a part of the pre-launch in 2005, helping to create the communications and marketing functions from scratch. Within the first three days of Zillow’s launch, they obtained over 1 million visitors. Much of Amy’s efforts is what contributed to such a large number of visitors to start the company off with. Amy held many positions across the board at Zillow including Leading Brand Strategy, Chief Marketing Officer, and Growth and Marketing. Her extensive accomplishments and undeniable successful leadership skills ultimately landed her the position of Chief Operating Officer. After 14 years, Amy left Zillow to join TCV as a Venture Partner in 2019. She now serves as board of directors for Modsy and Zillow Group.

Amy has won numerous awards such as being included in the 2014 Director Marketing News’ Marketing Hall of Femme. She was also named “Most Powerful Woman in Real Estate” on the Swanepoel Power 200 list in both 2017 and 2018.
